My name is Dolores Swineford. I am currently in my fifth year at Lake Local Schools and am the new assistant principal at Lake High School. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Ashland University. I returned to Ashland University to receive a Masters in Elementary Administration. The following year, I received an additional license in Administrative Specialist: Curriculum and Professional Development. Once I began my career path in educational administration, I returned to Ashland University to work on my superintendent’s license. Two years ago, I completed the coursework and received my superintendent’s license from the University of Findlay.
When I began my career in education, I started by teaching 7th grade Earth Science and 8th grade Language Arts at New London Local Schools in Huron County. During this time I also coached varsity volleyball. For the next eight years of teaching, I taught all-day, every other day kindergarten at New London. In my last two years of teaching, I taught 4th grade Language Arts at New London. In 2008, I began my administrative career at Lake by being the principal at Walbridge Elementary. With the closing of Walbridge Elementary, my administrative path changed. This year I am the Lake preschool principal, assistant principal of Lake Middle School, and assistant principal of Lake High School.
I look forward for a great and exciting year as we return to the Lake Local School campus! Welcome home Flyers!
